Our Story
We take our name from the Wychwood, an ancient woodland in Oxfordshire, England. Settled since prehistory, through Roman occupation, and into the medieval period, the Wychwood is a reminder that no matter how we try to compartmentalise the past, it exists on its own continuum.
The Wychwood is named after the Hwicce people who, according to the Anglo-Saxon chronicle, made the forest their home around the 6th century. Although the forest was once much larger than it is today, preservation efforts have seen this ancient woodland creep back out into the sleepy villages of the surrounding Cotswolds.
